Package Holidays.

As a traveller, this is one of the topic that I enjoy discussing with other holiday makers and now, I would like to share my point of view with you.

When I ask to my friends if they prefer booking a package holidays or if they prefer organize their own trips, more and more of them choose the second option without thinking of pros and cons about it or thinking of the destination.

It is clear than nowadays, thanks to the Internet, is much easier to book a room or buy a flight ticket from any part of the world and in a secure way. Moreover, if we have internet conexion in our smartphone we won´t need to carry heavy tourist guides in our suitcase. Thanks to the Internet we are much more independient than before. When we decide to plan our trip we will have higher posibilities to do and see what we really want, without the neccesity of going after a group or having fixed timetables for sightseeing or going shopping. this is a huge advantage but do you think it is safe to be so adventurious in every countries?

To my mind, package holidays offer higher security and fewer risks than travelling by our own, and this fact is more remarkable when we visit remote places, specially in other continents. As far as I´m concerned, when I want to visit an european city or country I feel quite safe about organizing my trip, but when I´ve been to Egypt or Brazil I had not any doubt about booking a package holiday.

My best travelling memory!

I´m sure you agree with me that the first day in a trip is always exhilarating and you feel anxious to get to your destination. That´s how I felt when I went to Egypt in Novermber 2009.

I´m keen on the ancient Egypt since I was very young. I´ve read menay books and I´ve seen a lot of movies and documentaries, therefore, to be there was my dream come true.

It was a very long journey because my father and I left from Sevilla very early in the morning. Then we got in Madrid and from Madrid to the airport. After that, the flight took off three hours later because it was delayed. Consequently, we arrived in Egypt at night. It was a really weird experience because I couldn´t believe that I was there and I said to my father: "Ok, I´m in Egypt, but I can´t believe it. You know, I can only see an airport!".Later, when we got to the ship (we went on a cruise), I said to him again that I could see the Nile river but I didn´t still believe that I was in Egypt.

That night we could sleep only three hours owing to the fact that we had to take a bus at 3:00 am in order to visit the Abu Simbel temple, but i was so excited that I didn´t sleep almost anything. In spite of this I enjoyed the trip. Was so awesome to cross the desert while seeing the night becoming day throught that landscape.
At 7in the morning we got off the bus and I could only see the big Assuan lake and a little mountain at the background with a path next to it and I wondered where the temple was.

Finally, at the end of the path I turned back I I could see the Abu simbel temple with the four imposing colossus of Ramses. Suddenly, mu hair stood on end and some drops felt from my eyes because I felt a huge hapiness. That was the moment when I relised that I was in Egypt and I had to get away from the group to hide my tears. I felt embarrased but I was on clouds number 9!!

Who am I?

Wellcome to my first entry on Mylittletrippot blog! Although I´ve created this blog as a task for my current studies in Guiadance, Information and Touristic Assistance, every travelers, History, cultural heritage and archaeological lovers are wellcome to share their opinions and experiences.

As you have supposed, I´m keen on archaeology and historical heritage, and above all, everything that connects tourism and history. That´s the reason why after completing my Degree in History (specialty in Archaeology) and a Master´s Degree in Art, Museums and Historical Heritage Management, I´ve decided to expand my qualifications in order to be a tourist guide.

Now that you know my professional profile, let me tell you something about my personal features. I´m a very tranquil but a proactive person, always willing to learn something new and expecting the day to have more than 24 hours. I consider myself as an easygoing, reliable and people person but I have to admit that sometimes I have my head in the clouds!

I enjoy releasing adrenaline in the gym in my favourite class which is Ciclo indoor (sometimes called spinning). But I also like going out with friends and my couple, reading a good book in bed or cooking. But of course, what I really love is travelling. I´m sure you love travel too, don´t you?

Last but not least my big big love! My doggie Cora. Isn´t she cute??
